Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
Harmony Day
In March we celebrate Harmony Day. It is a special day where we celebrate the diversity of our school community. Students are invited to wear orange, or clothing from their country of heritage.
Easter Hat Parade
We celebrate the end of Term 1 by making special hats and parading around. Families are welcome to come along to join the fun!
Sports Carnivals
Throughout the year, students participate in a swimming carnival (Years 3-6 competitors only), cross country carnival and athletics carnival. Top performers qualify for zone carnivals to compete against other schools in our area.
NAIDOC / Reconciliation Weeks
We recognise NAIDOC week and Reconciliation week where students celebrate the long, rich history of our country.
Public Education Week Open Day
In August, we invite families into the classroom to see what their children get up to at school. There is also a showcase assembly where our performance groups perform for the community.
Excursions / Incursions
Each year, your child will generally have one off-site excursion related to their learning. These are always a highlight for the students! We also welcome many excellent external providers in for special presentations throughout the year.
Book Week
Each year, we get dressed up as a favourite book character to celebrate literature. The book parade is the highlight of Book Week, but we also do a school-wide story tour and have author visits to inspire our students in their love of literature.
Presentation Day
At the end of the year, we recognise our students' achievements. Awards for achievement and commitment to learning in all aspects of school are presented. Families of award winners will be invited to attend.
and much, much more!
Our students enjoy several other exciting events throuhgout the year, such as:
- Special assemblies
- Mufti days
- Community celebrations
- Fundraising events
- Mothers Day / Fathers Day Stall
- Colour Run
- Walkathon
